Todd Leonard Coaches Morris County Special Olympics Teams at State Tournament
Todd Leonard coached two teams from the Morris County Special Olympics basketball program in the State Tournament held in Wildwood, New Jersey on April 6 and April 7, 2013. It was a very exciting weekend for the athletes and the coaches. Teams throughout the State of New Jersey who advanced from the Sectional competitions, competed during the two day tournament which had 9 divisions. One of the teams Todd coached won the silver medal in division 9 and the other team finished in 6th place in division 3. He was very proud of the athletes efforts and accomplishments this season.
Todd Leonard has been the head coach of the Special Olympics basketball program for the Morris County Arc of New Jersey for over 14 years. Since he started, the program has grown from two to four teams. He is the most proud about the fact that any individual with disabilities in Morris County can play on one of the teams, since there are different level teams. Todd urges anyone who is interested in joining the program to contact him directly or the McArp office.
