Leonard, is also a Board Member and Trustee of The 200 Club Morris County. Founded in 1971, the 200 Club is an organization that honors and supports Morris County’s finest: including Police Officers, Fire Fighters, First Aid Squad members, and the New Jersey State Police, and their families. In its original charter, The 200 Club wrote, as its Purpose, “To help provide for the widows and dependents of policemen, firemen and first aid squad members in Morris County and New Jersey State Police, who lose their lives in the line of duty.” The 200 Club continues this tradition of supporting the survivors of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

Each year, The 200 Club recognizes those individuals who have demonstrated meritorious service or valor while in the line of duty. Once again, the Birchwood Manor in Whippany, NJ was the site for this year’s festivities, held April 26, 2018. Awards were announced by both Morris County Sherriff, James Gannon, and new President William Lockwood.

Lastly, The 200 Club continues its annual Scholarship fund, which began in 1982, and has selected 20 high school seniors to receive a $5,000 scholarship. These students demonstrated academic achievement in their studies, while also performing local community service. They will all be recognized on May 15, 2018, at the 200 Club’s annual Scholarship Awards ceremony in Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. The scholarship is open to children with a parent actively serving with or retired from a Morris County police department, fire department, ambulance squad, the New Jersey State Police, paramedics with a Morris County-based hospital, or other eligible branches.
